What is First Flush and Why It's Good

First flush Matcha or green tea is normally more expensive and taste better, but many do not know what does first flush means.

What is First Flush ?

First flush (Ichibancha) basically mean the first harvest of tea leaves, it happens every year during spring season after the long winter. Second flush (nibancha) is the second harvest, and normally happens during the summer.

Why First Flush is Better?

The last harvest ends during autumn season. During the winter season, all the nutrients are stored inside the tea leaves. L-Theanine developed for few months are all stored inside the tea leaves. Therefore the first flush Matcha or green tea has much higher sweetness compare to second flush.

L-Theanine is known for promoting good mood and improve health conditions. Besides, first flush tea is also rich in other nutrients too.
